I keep managed IT running for Connecticut school districts and municipalities. Mostly by turning repetitive work into reliable systems.

I'm Kevin Icart. I manage professional services for eastern Connecticut at an MSP, lead a seven-person support team, and own the company-wide RMM and the automation that keeps it all running. Security and automation-certified, hands-on by preference.

02  About

My entire career has been spent supporting public-sector environments, where reliability matters more than novelty and documentation is not optional.

I started in K-12 support on an internal IT team before moving to the MSP side, where I progressed from technician to analyst and then into management, leading professional services. That progression shapes how I approach automation: grounded in the day-to-day work and designed to be repeatable across the team.

For me, automation should reduce variation as much as effort. The goal is not merely a faster task; it is a controlled process with testing, safety checks, deliberate rollout, and clear documentation. It should be something another person can understand, run, and trust.

Away from work

The same instinct follows me home. I am a husband and foster father, and our household includes a red heeler with working-dog energy, so time is precious. I look for small efficiencies wherever I can. My favorite is Mowzart, my Mammotion Luba 2 robot lawn mower, with our Roborock robot vacuum-mops close behind.
